MAMC Education Events

MAMC Basic Institute
The MAMC Basic Institute is a three-year educational program consisting of one-week sessions over a three-year period.  This event is held annually in March at the Comfort Inn in Mt. Pleasant. This program is intended for clerks pursuing the Michigan Professional Municipal Clerk (MiPMC) designation through MAMC and/or the Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation through IIMC.

MAMC Master Academy
The MAMC Master Academy is an advanced continuing education program consisting of a three-day session held annually in November/December at the Comfort Inn in Mt. Pleasant. This academy is recommended for clerks seeking to advance to the next level of the MiPMC designation through MAMC and the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation through IIMC.

In addition, MAMC offers a one-day preconference Master Class in conjunction with the June MAMC Annual Conference.

MAMC Annual Conference
The MAMC Annual Conference is held each year in June and offers educational sessions tailored specifically to the duties and responsibilities of Michigan municipal clerks. In 2026, the conference will take place in Kalamazoo. This event provides valuable education and professional development sessions, as well as the opportunity for networking with colleagues from across the state.

MAMC Clerking 101 Boot Camp
Clerking 101 is a separate, two-day educational program offered immediately prior to and in conjunction with the MAMC Annual Conference. This session provides a comprehensive overview of the wide-ranging responsibilities of Michigan municipal clerks. While designed primarily for newly elected or appointed clerks, experienced clerks may also attend.
