New Region 5 Director

Congratulations to Joel Hondorp, Grand Rapids City Clerk, for his recent selection by Michigan Clerks to represent us as the next IIMC Region 5 Director. Joel was selected by an electronic vote of MAMC members last fall and his name was submitted to IIMC based on the results of that vote to be our next Region 5 Director.

Prior to being appointed as the Grand Rapids City Clerk, Joel served as Byron Township Clerk from 2000 to 2018. During his tenure at Byron Township, he was selected as the 2010 MAMC Township Clerk of the year and in 2012 served as President of the MAMC. Joel recently served as chair of the IIMC Elections Committee and served as the host clerk of the 2021 IIMC Annual Conference. He attained the status of Master Municipal Clerk in 2019 and was recently named MAMC’s first Level 5 MiPMC!

Joel will officially be sworn in at the upcoming IIMC Conference in St. Louis in May. Congratulations, Joel! We know you will represent us well.
