President's Message Summer 2023
Happy Summer friends and colleagues!
I hope you had a chance to attend some of the educational and networking opportunities at conference in Detroit last month. The MAMC education and conference committees worked hard to bring you Clerking 101, Master’s class and many more inspiring and educational sessions at conference. Like many of you, I reunited with old friends, made new connections, and returned to work energized and inspired. What an amazing experience! Next up is Member Education Day on Wednesday, August 30 in Mt. Pleasant. Don’t miss it!
I look forward to this next year serving MAMC as your President, but first I want to recognize and thank our Immediate Past President, Adam Wit, and our outgoing Past President, Mary Clark, for their leadership and support over the last few years. I have learned so much from both of them and they have worked hard in dedicated service to this organization. Thank you! As we say goodbye to Mary on the Board, we welcome Kristi Pozzi to serve as our newest Director in the Township position. Please see the related article introducing Kristi to learn more about her!
We’ve talked a lot over the last few years about the resiliency of clerks – we have handled many challenges and we came together after Proposition 18-3 to manage the ever-changing election landscape – as Mary Clark said, “We are ONE” and we are stronger together - big and small, urban and rural, city and township. 2024 looks to be even more challenging and with many more changes on the horizon as a result of Proposition 22-2, including the implementation of early voting. We will navigate these changes together, while recognizing that we may each have different needs. MAMC will continue to advocate for all of our members and make space for every voice.
I hope you will continue to participate. I look forward to the year ahead and to working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Beaudry, MiPMC/MMC
